Sheila is known for painting the landscape of her native California and the West. These paintings hang in private collections from Atlanta to Australia and Cape Cod to Pebble Beach, including the collections of Clint Eastwood and Dina Eastwood. She paints primarily in pastels and oils to capture the luminous quality of the Western light.
Prior to establishing herself as an artist, Sheila had a distinguished career as a city and county planner. Her work on open space and resource conservation issues won numerous regional and national planning awards. Her love and respect for nature are now being translated into her paintings.
Sheila's art has been featured in the American Artist Magazine Studios Edition; in the Monterey County Arts Council Calendar, Celebrating Monterey County; on the cover of California Landscape Painters, 2010; and in California Landscape Painters, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
