Sheila is  known for her luminous landscape paintings of the West. Art and the outdoors have always been her passions. A native Californian, she has always had a paint brush or pencil in her hand.
Prior to establishing herself as an artist, Sheila had a distinguished career as a city and county planner, winning awards for her work on open space and resource conservation issues. Her love and respect for nature are now being communicated in her paintings. She lives on the Monterey Peninsula and her hikes and travels throughout the West inspire her work.

Sheila's art has been featured in American Artist Magazine, Monterey Living, and California Landscape Painters. Her paintings have been exhibited at Venture Gallery, Monterey; Gallery North, Carmel; Natsoulas Gallery, Davis (Sacramento); the Sunset Center, Carmel; the Pacific Grove Art Center; the Steinbeck Center, Salinas; the Monterey Museum of Art; the Los Gatos Museum; the Triton Museum, Santa Clara; and the Yosemite Museum. She currently exhibits at the Carmel Art Association, where she was on the Board of Directors for the past three years.

Sheila is also a member of the Women Artists of the West (associate juried member), California Art Club, and the Pastel Society of the West Coast.
